Oh, the Greeks, They were so good at naming the future. Avalon was an island of Greek mythology believe it or not. It's an "Isle of the blessed". King Aurtur had his infamous sword (excalibur) forged there and it looks as though he must have had these spoon handles done on the D.L. from history. It must have been a real pain to have everything he did written down by those ancient paparazzi (Feasting here and slaying there Whew!) He must have snuck this design in with one of the nymphs of the island's great caverns.
Avalon is from 1940. If you'd ever like to get your chance to visit Avalon these may be the wings to get you there!
This Pendant is 1.5 inches tall, 3/8" thick and 7/8 inches wide.
The finding for the bail is wrapped around itself inside and outside the bell with sterling silver wire so that it's super sturdy. The clapper for the bell is the end of a fork tine suspended from chain. I have smooth finished the edges at the bottom of the bell with a very tiny grinding wheel to insure that there are no sharp edges and that this piece is a good representation of quality workmanship.
Comes with a 20 inch chain necklace.
